Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)
Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)
Sewage Treatment Plants focus on treating "black water" and "grey water" from residential complexes, townships, and municipal sources. Unlike ETPs, STPs primarily deal with organic waste and pathogens. The process usually involves primary treatment (screening and grit removal), secondary biological treatment (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor or Membrane Bioreactor), and tertiary disinfection. The treated water is clear, odorless, and safe for non-potable uses like gardening, toilet flushing, and industrial cooling, thereby significantly reducing the demand for fresh water.
